bedworth, 2017 At Nicholas Chamberlaine's Almshouses, Bedworth, Warks. Thanks to Mike Woolford for the photos. The almshouses were built in 1840 by a charity which was established in 1715 as part of a bequest by Nicholas Chamberlaine, who was rector of Bedworth from 1664 until his death in 1715. Restored in 1997.

princethorpe princethorpe Princethorpe, Warks. Thanks to John Hurst for the photos on the left, and to Bernard Morris for the one on the right. Bernard is the grandson of John Henry Clarke of Kenilworth, and the photo marks the 2021 family visit to the pump.

Markings: J. H. CLARKE & SON, PUMPMAKERS"

Manufacturer: J.H.Clarke & Sons (plural) were well-sinkers and wooden pump-makers in nearby Kenilworth. They didn't have their own foundry, but in later years had cast iron pumps carrying their name made by "a foundry in the Tipton area" which surely must be Lee, Howl & Co.

radford semele, 2023 Radford Semele, Warks.The pump was found in the undergrowth of Radford House Lodge when it was demolished to make way for a new housing estate. The developer rescued the pump and had it sited on a green space in front of the village shop.Thanks to John Gilchrist for the photo.
