A substantial twin
throw geared flywheel & crank pump in a field nr Snitterfield, Warks.
There's a handle fitted to one of the spokes of the righthand flywheel, but the
shaft also carries a pulley wheel which suggests that it might have been
intended for use with an engine of some kind - maybe a traction engine? Note
that there is no sign of there ever having been a spout, and that the device is
located above a derelict sump. Just up the hill, about 200 yds away, is what
looks like a small, derelict, covered reservoir. By 2019, the pump was heavily
ovegrown - thanks to Mike Woolford for the photo on the right.
