Unusual markings on this lead pump at the Water Supply Museum,
Sutton Poyntz, Dorset. The pump came from a garden in Osmington, but no more is
known of its origin. Note the handle, operating rod and wooden bucket valve
also on display, information on which is on a
nearby notice board. Markings: A curious moon face symbol, two possible wreath motifs, and a date "1823". Manufacturer: Unk. |
