Iwerne Courtmey or Shroton (click on photograph to bring up bigger/better version).
At the village of "Iwerne Courtney or Shroton", Dorset, this
wooden-boxed pump looks as if was restored in 1994. Thanks to Paul Snelling for
the photos. Markings: "T.H.B.B 1881" on the lead tank and "TM.MCMXCIV" on the wooden handle. |

It's highly probable that THBB stands for Rev Sir Talbot Hastings Bendall Baker, 3rd Bt (1820-1900). He was the Vicar at Preston, Dorset, 1848-1878, and at some stage held the office of Prebendary of Salisbury Cathedral. He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Baker, of Ranston, Dorset on 29 March 1877. | ||||

Also at Iwerne Courtney or Shroton, Dorset, this pump seems either
to have a nasty crack, or even lost part of the barrel casting. Thanks to Shawn
Shaw for the photo. Markings: None. Manufacturer: Unk. |
