An
unusual design at Skirmett, Bucks. There's a stopcock on one side, and in all
probability a flange on the other side, designed to take a delivery pipe. The
air vessel has a small plug near the top; with this plug in place the air
vessel could perform its intended smoothing of the water flow out via the
delivery pipe, but with it removed a pulsing flow of water could be achieved at
a higher volume via the stopcock. Thanks to Mike Woolford for the photo.
