Sedlescombe's Pump
My thanks to Sedlescombe Parish Council for these photographs, which were taken during the removal of the top portion in the summer of 2010, prior to its renovation. You can see the delivery pipe inside the wooden plinth, but there's no further sign of a pump mechanism. The handle was reportedly removed a long time ago, probably when it was decommissioned in 1958. The bottom right photograph is a view looking down the well, and I think that the working barrel is still down there, at the end of the cut off pipe.
