nether alderley, 2015 In the woods near Nether Alderley, Cheshire - the delivery pipe has broken off at ground level. The flat edge to the flywheel might suggest a belt drive, and apparently there are old quarry workings nearby. Thanks to Jack Street for the photograph and information.

upton The village pump at Upton, Cheshire. Apparently it was last used regularly in about 1900, although during WW2 they readied it for use again. These days they still look after the pump as a significant piece of their town's street furniture, and they won a Best Kept Village Award in 1978 and similar in 2003.
