Penpol
(click on photograph to bring up bigger/better
version).
Near
Penpol (Point village), Cornwall, this one is unusual in that it employs a
little pump as its spout, the assumption being that it's a lift and force pump
and the working barrel is below ground level. Thanks to Andy Norfolk for the
2018 photos on the right, and Sarah Davis for the 2021 updates on the left.
Behind is a notice reading:
THIS WATER MUST BE BOILED
BEFORE USE. CARRICK DISTRICT COUNCIL
Markings: Flag and roundel.
Manufacturer: Lee Howl.

Also at
Point, near Penpol, Cornwall, this one has had its original handle replaced by
a modern one of Chinese origin. Thanks to Sarah Davis for the
photos.
