Hampstead Norreys, West
Berks (click on photograph to bring up bigger/better
version).
A flywheel
and crank pump in Church St., just opposite the church. It's securely padlocked
and chained, its operating rod is missing, and it has a large stopcock at the
bottom of a very tall delivery pipe. Markings: "7/3" on the side of the downpipe. Manufacturer: Unk. |

This hefty flywheel and
triple throw crank pump is further along Church St., alongside the Pang stream
near the White Hart. At the time of my visit I'd not seen one like this before.
It's good to read that as of 2014 there had been
some
significant restoration of the shelter. The wooden shelter carries a board with the following inscription: |

THIS WELL
WAS GIVEN TO THE PARISH OF HAMPSTEAD-NORRIS BY HARRY WEBER ESQ.E OF HAWKRIDGE. 1903 |
