chalfont, 2015 A lift and force pump at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Chalfont St. Giles, Bucks, with what seems to be a repair patch clamped to the barrel. Thanks to Marcus Simms for the 2015 photo on the left, and to Barrie Thomas for the 2024 ones on the right.
Closer examination shows that the lead pipe protruding above the pump is distinctly bulbous, and we now think that this is a rare example of a lead air vessel. As such, it could have been added in order to even out the flow of water - perhaps to whatever was served by a now-missing vertical pipe.

Markings: None.

Manufacturer: It looks very much like a Warner's model.
