Beaumaris (click on photograph to bring up bigger/better version).

beaumaris beaumaris Two hefty pumps opposite the Community Centre, near the castle at Beaumaris, Anglesey, which were apparently moved from their original location by the outer moat wall of the castle. Photograph on far left by Malcolm King, and the others by Roger Howse - thanks, both. Roger reports that there's no mechanism inside the cast iron cases - which makes you wonder why the handles are chained down. A visit in 2014 showed the pumps looking very smart with a new coat of black paint

Markings: None, although there's a date, 1867, carved in a stone set in the wall behind the pumps.

Manufacturer: Unk.
